Jim has been a professional in the mental health field for over 30 years supporting the needs of adolescents, teens, adults, parents, and families across numerous platforms. He strongly emphasizes the importance of building resilience within each client, and his practice is grounded in the principles of empathy, trust, collaboration, and accountability.

Clients and colleagues often cite Jim’s balance of clinical skills, ease in earning trust, and use of humor as being vital to the task and journey, as well as generating consistent and positive outcomes. 

Jim currently practices in several clinical spaces, including K-12 public education, collegiate mental health, and offers leadership and expertise support as a member of an emerging national start up company, focusing on family system health, resilience, and wellness. 

His clinical journey has also included the following areas of practice; child protection investigator, residential treatment, domestic and international adoption, inpatient and outpatient therapy services, 15 years in emergency medicine, and holding various leadership roles in these settings. 

He is a father to three children, residing in Minneapolis/St. Paul area with his wife and family.
